    Pattern for knitted hound coat

I got this pattern and made a few for Willow in various colours. Being a “cheapskate”, the first time I went to the likes of Poundstrechers etc., and got their normal “cheap” double knitting wool but doubled it up so that I was knitting with two strands instead of one – maybe advisable if you’re not sure how it will turn out.. It worked fine but I found that after taking her for a walk with her “polo neck” completely up, she was rather reluctant to take it off when we came back in from the cold and wanted to lie down with it still on, with the result that over time it stretched and went out of shape. Not good enough to go out for a walk with but brilliant for using it as “jammies”. Neck completely up kept her cosy cosy in the cold winter months but with the cheap wool they do go out of shape. Her “belly” ended up at her feet but she was cosy cosy and when they were completely out of shape, I chucked them and made another. So start knitting. I have two in reserve, walking to start with and then sleeping in when they start to “stretch”. Don’t know if the more expensive wool, as stated in the pattern, would keep its shape more than “the double cheapy” but it works fine with Willow – no complaints so far.
  2. Took Willow out this morning and noticed a tri-colour king charles cavalier (not very old) wandering about in the Crewe Road North area of Edinburgh. It was still wandering when I came back so I tried to get a hold of it but it was rather timid and wouldn't come to me. It had an orange collar but no name or contact details. It shot off again and a No.16 bus had to put the brakes on rather quick. Reported it to 101 when I came back and they will have a look but I've no idea of where it will be now. Last seen heading in the direction of Scotmid Co-op on Crewe Road North, Edinburgh. Hope the poor wee thing can be picked up by the police.

I know who's got Ivy too!!!! We went for a walk yesterday and I've got a cracking photo of the three of them together but I don't know how to get it on the forum unless it comes out really small. Can anyone help?
  9. This was the reply I got from BBC Dear Ms McPherson Thanks for contacting us regarding 'Colin Murray' on Radio 5 live. We understand you felt the programme endorsed greyhound racing. 5 live Sport, presented by Colin Murray on Friday evenings is following the progress of a greyhound called 'showmethebunny', a name voted for by listeners to the programme in a light hearted feature. This greyhound is not owned by the programme or the BBC, it is owned by the British Greyhound Board and therefore we can assure you that there is no cost to licence fee payers. We appreciate that greyhound racing is a topical area for debate, there are some people who want greyhound racing banned as they feel it is cruel but there are also those who really enjoy the sport, particularly those who voted for the name. We would like to assure you that we’ve registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC. Thank you for taking the time to contact us. www.bbc.co.uk/complaints NB This is sent from an outgoing account only which is not monitored. You cannot reply to this email address but if necessary please contact us via our webform quoting any case number we provided. Kind Regards BBC Audience Services
